The 411: The problem with Crime Pays is that there’s nothing to make it really stand out. Despite the decent notion of wanting to make an album with no major guest appearances, it would have helped Cam had he reached out to a couple of better hook writers (not T-Pain or Akon) for some of the hooks. The length of the album really hurts it too as the skits wreck any momentum the album begins to build. Overall, it’s a decent album, but too many ridiculous songs that you wouldn’t even expect on a Soulja Boy album sabotage Cam’s comeback just a bit too much.
